Cadent will be undertaking works commencing Tuesday, May 9th 2023 to replace the gas mains pipes. This will require significant road closures on White Horse Hill and Smiths Lane through to October.
Two presentations were held by Trinity, Cadent’s contractor, at Snitterfield Sports Club and Snitterfield Village Hall to inform residents of the upcoming works.
A further Q & A for residents was arranged in January 2023 with Mick Chambers from Trinity.
A meeting was arranged in February 2023 with Trinity, Environment Agency, Warwickshire County Council Highways and Flood Risk Management, Warwickshire Police. Representatives from Snitterfield Flood Group and Snitterfield Sports Club were present as well as Stratford-on-Avon District Councillor Peter Richards, Councillors Elliot and Pearson. Agencies were encouraged to think forward and implement any planned or potential improvements during road closures.
Snitterfield Parish Council was informed that community engagement will be undertaken by the Local Delivery Partner, Flowaime, appointed at the end of February.
It is hoped that there will be a manager on site during the works, but this cannot be guaranteed by Snitterfield Parish Council. All works and road closures remain out of the Council’s juresdiction.

Warwickshire Police looked at the proposed traffic management and specifically the diversion routes for the closures.
The strategic diversions on the A3400 at Bearley and the A46 will deal with the vast amount of through traffic at peak hours. Warwickshire Police also suggested that it might also be signed Ingon Lane at the A439 Warwick Road to prevent traffic coming up to Snitterfield and then being forced back out onto the A46 or onto the back lanes.
