Annual Parish Assembly – April 26th 2021
The purpose of an annual parish meeting is to provide a platform for residents to speak regarding any matter of (relevant) interest to the parish. It enables a Parish Council to explain what it has been doing over the last year and allows residents to ask questions. It is a relatively informal event and not a formal Council meeting, though it is called by the Council.
Reports were also received from County and District Councillors, Snitterfield Village Hall, Rag Tag Toddler Group, Rural Cinema, The Telephone Box Rejuvenation Group, Snitterfield Village Fete, Snipe and Snitterfield Garden Club.
To encourage discussion and debate, two speakers were invited who share a passion for the natural environment. They have a great deal of knowledge and experience between them and are able to talk at length on infrastructure issues that make a difference to rural lives: green belt, tree management, ecology and biodiversity, better homes, climate change initiatives, sustainable transport, even green traffic calming schemes.
Peter Wharton, Wharton Natural Infrastructure Consultants presented possibilities for green development in Snitterfield. Download Presentation by Peter Wharton
John Wharam, Campaign to Protect Rural England, spoke of the history of the charity and the work CPRE do in the Warwickshire area
